If the water is hot, why do you need to heat it?

They really are hot water heaters, if you set the temperature for say 160deg, when the

temperature in the tank falls to 140deg or thereabouts it will start heating the 140deg

water to bring it back up to 160deg. To me, 140deg water is hot, therefore, hot water heater.

Unless making up losses from disuse, cold water is being heated up to temp. so it's still a water heater.
