Re: Instantaneuos Water Heaters

I agree Jim

But this booster water heater will have to be hard wired in to meet this requirement but would be more convenient and safer to have a disc. at the unit. :)

Re: Instantaneuos Water Heaters

We finished connecting a 7.5kW water heater. The unit was hardwired with #8 AWG, to a 2 pole non-fusible 60 Amp, 250 volt disconnect located 2 feet away from unit. Feed was from a 240 volt 3phase grounded B panel with a 2 pole 40A Square D 'H' breaker. Unit draws 31.25 Amps. Branch circuit was sized based on 31.25 * 125% = 39 Amps = 40 Amp breaker.

:D

Re: Instantaneuos Water Heaters

I've got yet another question about these water heaters. From a commercial application standpoint, how would I figure the diversity of the load on several of these water heaters. If I have 10 Instant Hot Water heaters at 8 kw each at 277 volts that would be 289 connected amps. Certainly they all wouldn't be on at the same time. Anybody have any ideas how to approach diversifying this load?!

Thanks
