Do some AHJ's accept EMT connectors with insulated throats (without separate bushings) as meeting the requirements of 300.4.F.? The edge of the insulated throats are generally fairly thin and sharp, easily damaged by end pressure, and not what I would call smoothly rounded. Specific NEC, UL, etc. references would be appreciated.

Re: Insulated throat EMT connectors

What would be the purpose of buying insulated throats if you needed a bushing along with the insulated throat?

300.4(F) Insulated Fittings. Where raceways containing ungrounded conductors 4 AWG or larger enter a cabinet, box enclosure, or raceway, the conductors shall be protected by a substantial fitting providing a smoothly rounded insulating surface, unless the conductors are separated from the fitting or raceway by substantial insulating material that is securely fastened in place.
Notice the part I made bold, that part has no reference to "smoothly rounded"

In my opinion the last 20 words of that section cover the insulated throat connectors.
