Re: Intent

When judging an installation one of the many things to keep in mind is "Is it safe?" There are only three answers. Yes, No, or I don't Know. If you answer is the third one, then find someone who does. If the second one, then you should know what to do to make it safe, because you know why it is not safe. If you don't how to make it safe, then you really have no business answering no. And I would worry about things where your answer was yes.

Re: Intent

Scott but that stress that we get from this forum is like a drug for some; we can't wait to get our fix.

If we(electricians) install something according to the code, and we (inspectors) inspect something, and we follow the law (NEC), then we have done what we can, since the NEC is the rule that our states and communities adopt as the rule.

If lawyers and insurance companies want to twist something, we can do nothing except say we followed the law.

Think of how much trouble we as installers and inspectors have agreeing on code rules. Now, think of what lawyers, lobbiests, politicians and insurance companies could with extra confusion.
