interlock kit for 120 V generator

Customer has a small 120 generator and wants an interlock kit installed. But that will only power up half the busbars. I guess there is nothing wrong with that except he'll only be able to back up half his circuit breakers. Do you have this request sometimes? Thank you.
 
Agree but that would mess with any multiwire circuits. Also I don't suppose the load would be large enough to cause the neutral to be overloaded
None of the 240 volt circuits would care, because they wouldn’t work, also those can easily be turned off, that’s part of the requirements of using a manual transferswitch. Same with multiwire receptacle circuits.
 
Houses are so lightly loaded now compared you could probably just pigtail out the multi wires and make it a single circuit. No one even know the difference.

Respectfully, I would not even worry about that being a problem.
