Hope all of you doing well
Here is my dilemma , I have replaced yesterday switch with Intermatic101R timer for coach light , I have connected every thing to the diagram , just got the call few minutes ago , customer telling it works fine manually but not the timer and there is one white wire you do not connect . I might over look it .. I am thinking it might be the clock neutral.
To be honest guys , I am rusted on this its have been a while since I wire one .
Please refresh my memory , what to look for ?. Any comment greatly appreciate it

Sounds like you missed the neutral from the power. There should be a diagram on the enclosure cover

It could happen to you..

It could happen to you..

Check the clock motor and make sure is is 120V. I once has a timer right out of the box with a 220V motor. Someone switched the "guts" and I wasted 4 hours traveling to fix it. Now I check EVERYTHING before going to the jobsite.

Correct both neutrals under one terminal or a pigtail from both neutrals.

same thing here!!!

i've gotten 277V clocks in 240V labeled enclosures. the guys at the supply house will switch things around for you if they don't have exactly what you need configured in the box, and they can forget to re-label it.

YES.. it was. I was trying to save time and not have to go to the supply house in the morning. HD was still open at 9:30PM.. and I learned a good lesson. No more last minute parts shopping!!!!

I inspect everything that's either openable, or more carefully if it's been opened.

You know what I mean.

Had that happen to me one too many times buying fixtures there...no more fixtures from big box....actually, I don't buy much of anything there.

It happens even from good supply houses. Never take a tapped up box without examining everything inside. I've found old used parts inside boxes right off the shelf.

On a hurry up bid job that was exactly the same to several others. A no brainer. Cut the tape on shipping box, mounted the enclosure to pole & went to put a EMT connector in the bottom when I discovered a romex connector already there. Scratched my head as to when I had put that in when I finally noticed it wasn't even a 3R enclosure. CH shipping boxes are not taped on the back side for smaller disconnets. Can only guess that someone accidentally returned to the warehouse the wrong disconnect in a box that they just happend to have opened from the back.
