Intermittent Breaker Tripping

I'm going with Jraef. Because once I moved the pump 2 spaces down in the panel, all the problems went away. In fact I know it's been problem free for over 2 weeks now. Nothing else changed. It's the same pump, same running current; just a different space in the panel.

and I have seen weirdness problems before resolved just by moving breakers around. Especially recently with all the fancy electronics. QO panels are especially sensitive.

Now I'm leaning more towards bolt-on panels, which I have never had a problem with. and I have many many pictures of buss stabs melted.
Jraef, along with others here, has a talent for explaining why. Not just what.

By chance a Pentair VS pump?
Yes, How'd you guess ???

I also have a dead Jandy pump, that no one wants to fix. 2.7HP, VS. I know it's not the motor, or the pump section. It's the VFD invertor section with associated control electronics. No lights on the dashboard. $3,000 needs replacing because Jandy doesn't sell replaceable electronics, unless you can help me.

Pentair has been having problems for a while with nuisance tripping and an off the shelf GFCI breaker won't work. They have a proprietary breaker just for their sub panels. But I am told recently a change is being made. I am not a fan of Pentair.
There are a few threads on this forum on that subject.

I'm a Jandy dealer for almost 40 years. I've been using VS pumps way before DOE made the requirement for VS pumps on pools.

I've never had a problem with any of their VS pumps. In fact, when they first were available about 15 + years ago my friend/colleague who helped launch the pump and filter division, gave me one for a try. It's still running on a pool in Brooklyn.

Try calling Jandy Tech support 800-822-7933. Have the pump serial number handy before you call. They can check mfg date. Maybe they can help.
There is a motor and drive part number for the 2.7 R0562205, but it's discontinued. Mfg 2013-2021 Maybe one on Ebay......?

Newer model motor and drives are available.

My service part of my business is not as robust as it was years ago so perhaps there are few bummers out there that I'm not aware of.

I don't replace motors anymore. Maybe on a commercial job. Residential pools they get a new pump and a fresh warranty.
This may be your best/only option.

As far as I know that is just a rebranded Siemens GFCI breaker.

Might be. I have little experience with the Pentair panels but I'm aware of the issues with the breakers.

Recently I installed a new Pentair pump where everything on the pad was Pentair. The service company was used to this brand, so I didn't want to throw a wrench into it.

I did specifically purchase a 2 pole 20A GFCI from my pool supplier that was labeled as a Pentair breaker.
I did want to take a chance.
