Is there any generation loss? I don't think that's the proper question. Will it operate properly and have a normal lifespan is. What I would look at is the manufacturer's installation instructions paying particular attention to the environmental requirements. What is the allowable ambient temperature vs what you can expect to encounter where you want to locate it. On top of that you also need to take into consideration the absorbed heat from being in direct sunlight. A call to the manufacturer's tech support engineer would be my action if the information isn't readily available in the documentation.
