Is a Home Depot fixture a track or luminaire?

At one of those ceu's this weekend it was mentioned that a 15 amp track can not go on a 20 amp circuit.

I recall Home depot has those 2 or 4 ' tracks with a couple fixers that go to an existing ceiling lighting outlet box.

I'm pretty sure they are not 20 amp rated.

Is to install such a lighting fixture a violation?

As you've mentioned it would depend on whether it was a luminaire or actually lighting track as defined by 410.2.

Thank you I thought earlier that I should actually look up the definition. I didn't.
Books in truck. I'm on iphone. Did search found this link.

The plot always thickens.

Interesting that there is a special tool for cutting track and Halo has instructions for field cutting track on the second page here
