Is a seperate overcurrent protection required when standby generator power enters a building and the transfer switch is 20+ feet away? The conductors and raceways penetrate the building and rise above the acousticle ceiling to get to the transfer switch. Or would an EPO switch serve this purpose?

The conductors need overcurrent protection once, at their source of power. Once the conductors enter a building, they will need a disconnecting means, so that all power to the building could be turned off in an emergency. But that disconnecting means does not need to include overcurrent protection. I don't think an EPO would serve the needs of the required building disconnecting means.
