Is there a WP Romex connector?

Actually I do mostly residential. I won't say that I have never run Romex to a WP box, but if I have my choice, I use UF cable.

Why would you use UF if installed in a WP box that is getting a connector that will be within the confines of the wall or soffit as the case might be.Take a flood light mounted on a nail on box under an eave.Why is it any different from a retro fit where a WP box is used.The cable assy. is in a dry location ,connected by a nail on within the eave or within a connector within the soffit itself.The trouble of stripping out the UF as compared to NM isn`t worth the effort.Would you run UF for an a/c unit disconnect outside ??? I mount my disc. on rough in ,so the building covering be it stucco or what ever will eliminate any water infiltration.Thats just overkill and money not well spent.

I'm with Allenwayne, and the skeptic I am, I don't buy the fact that anyone would ever run UF to an exterior mounted outlet, new or retrofit.
