Bob:

Yes, the "meter" belongs to the utility, no argument there.

The "Meter Socket Enclosure" is covered by Article 312.

I could cite a few rules that can be questioned concerning the issues we are discussing here.

I'm done! ;)

May I access the meter socket without consulting the utility?

Re: Is this acceptable according to the UL Listing?

Joe,
Wire connectors in Listed meter mounting equipment are intended to accommodate one conductor only unless use with more than one conductor is clearly indicated on the wiring diagram or other readily visible location.
This quote certainly implies that meter sockets with terminations for more than one conductor would be available. Unless we can see the inside of the meter can or the manufacturer's information, we will never know if there is a violation.

Joe,

Nice game you got going here! At least you got everyone thinking! But, 110.14(A), didn't answer anything. Are the lugs in your pic identified for more than one conductor or not?

You should delete the page below because it tells users how to post their URL, and this boards rules don't allow a URL to be posted, that's why you deleted the link to my pictures.

http://www.mikeholt.com/codeforum/ultimatebb.php?ubb=ubb_code_page

URL Hyperlinking
If UBBCode? is enabled in a forum, you no longer need to use the code to create a hyperlink. Simply...http://www.yourURL.com]http://www.yourURL.com or www.yourURL.com
Use the code, in either of the following manner: [url=http://www.infopop.com]infopop.com
http://www.infopop.com

For automatic hyperlinking, notice that you can either use the complete http:// address or shorten it to the www domain. If the site does not begin with "www", you must use the complete "http://" address. Also, you may use https and ftp URL prefixes in auto-link mode (when UBBCode? is ON).

When using the URL UBBCode, the UBBCode? automatically generates a hyperlink to the URL that is encased. It will also ensure that the link is opened in a new window when the user clicks on it. Note that the "http://" part of the URL is completely optional. Also note that you should NOT use quotation marks inside the URL tag.
Email Linking
To add a hyperlinked email address within your message, just encase the email address as shown in the following example.

info@test5324566.com

In the example above, the UBBCode? automatically generates a hyperlink to the email address that is encased.

HTML is not enabled.
UBB Code? is enabled.

OK Joe, you have a meter fitting that you don't have a clue as to whether or not there is a violation or not. You are instructing us in what we already know. You are trying to say something about URLs that most of us already know.

I asked you a question yesterday that you didn't choose to answer. It was, "Joe, what is the purpose of your posting?" For lack of a good answer and the fact that this is going nowhere, I am closing the thread.
