island cabinets receptacle height

I have built a 4 ft x 4 ft island in a kitchen. Where do I place the electrical outlets to comply with code? I need to know the height restrictions, if any. I would like to place them directly under a slide out drawer at approximately 24 inches to the top of the box. Is this legal?
