Are hospital isolation panelboards required in operating rooms and if so, where can this requirement be found. Should the lighting in the O.R. room be on the isolation panel as well if ceilings are 9'-0" high?

Re: Isolation Panelboard

Health care requirements are found in article 517 of the NEC, much of which comes from NFPA 99. Why are you asking?

Re: Isolation Panelboard

Isolation panels are not required by the NEC, but they are allowed, see 517.19(E)

Many states do require it though, you should check with the AHJ be it local or state.

As far as the overhead lights, the answer is no, they would not be within the Patient Vicinity see definition.
