Isolation Transformer

Hello everyone,

I am setting up a workbench in my spare room to repair old radios. I have a 120v line isolation transformer that I want to use for the bench outlet (it looks like a big doorbell transformer.) That outlet feeds off of a junction box in the attic - would it be against code to install such a transformer inline near the junction box and secure it to a joist?
