I work on a piece of Westinghouse gear in an old police station that's pretty much the same way. Pretty cool, except you need to remove 9,000 screws to get enough covers off do do anything.Picture a large piece of three phase switch gear with a number of horizontal mounted pushmatic panels installed in it.
In my opinion, the PushMatic was the finest resi panel ever made. They were just hard for old people to push in and out. When installed outdoors, the little window that shows 'on' or 'off' gets hard to read. If they still made PushMatic's, that would be my brand of choice.
