Last year, I was installing some Ivory switches & the switch plates
looked alittle bit light. I did't realize Almond stuff was out there. Anyone know when this happened?

You mean two weeks ago????? Almond has been around for ~6 years, maybe more. But that was when it was fashionable.

Pass & Seymour has what they call Light Almond and I believe Lowes has an almond. They are not the same but they are close.

I made the same mistake several years ago. I got called back to a job because the plates & devices didn't match. It really ticked me off at the time. I think they should introduce "bone" next. And then "vanilla". We need more choices, and more things to keep in stock.

don't think the manufacturers aren't smart??? the more shades they come up with the more plates we carry in our stock!! the more they sell!!! i have actually found the same manufacturer's plates that doesn't match the devices..

Show them 3 different devices, but identical color like almond. "We got Almond, Bone, and Eggshell" and the wife WILL point to one "Oh I MUST have the eggshell..."

Good advice, I'll have to remember that when I'm out sidejobbing. ;)

I actually like the look of Almond better & so do lots of my female clients.
I just hadn't realized Almond was even out there. I also have a realtor
client that uses Black in his old houses, looks great...

I hate the other colors besides white.
Ivory and almond are easy to confuse.
Amond seems to be requested 2nd to white.
But my truck only has white and ivory.\

Different manufactures don't allways match with the same ivory.

I remember about 6 or 8 years ago, the P&S rep was doing a free lunch thing at the supply house, and the topic of the day was the new Light Almond devices. His explanation at the time was that they were targeted to spec builders who demanded a product halfway between white and ivory to satisfy both camps of potential buyers. For me, they're just a pain in the neck, since I don't have much light almond truck stock. I seldom run into that color, save for one particular development, and few sprinkled here and there.

I've installed almond for only one custom new house. As I said, it's just not popular here at all. The supply houses will have very limited stock of it, if they even have it at all.

Lowes sells cooper flavored almond which does not match leviton/lutron.

funny to try to use cover plates of either on devices of the other. well, not funny, but a problem.

I like light almond and am trying to make it the general color on our projects it goes good with everything..use it to replace white and ivory yet white is the most popular on rentals where the walls are white..
