Ivory/Almond devices & plates

Here it's Almond end to end, except for one person that spec'd White to throw me off...

6 months after paint they added dark granite backsplashes to all the units. I did a demo of a single black receptacle and then ended up having to replace them end to end.

TIP: Break an ear off a junk receptacle, and put cover screw through loose ear and thread completely into yoke from the backside. With a Dremel and cutoff wheel remove excess threads flush with frontside of yoke. Remove screw and repeat. You can trim about 50 cover plate screws before the yoke is unusable, then you use the other end of the yoke. Fastest way I've found to cut screws clean and accurate so they don't bottom out against granite. If you need slightly more thread, use two ears for spacers.

There is no Black, there is only Ebony

I just cut the plate screws to length with these...

Never had to space the receptacle off the surface before.

I like light almond and am trying to make it the general color on our projects it goes good with everything..use it to replace white and ivory yet white is the most popular on rentals where the walls are white..
I like it too. Goes good with just about everything.

Does anybody use brown anymore?. Around here when I have to replace brown devices and plates, sometimes have to order them from supply house. Forget Lowes or HD. Dont have them anymore.

Last year, I was installing some Ivory switches & the switch plates
looked alittle bit light. I did't realize Almond stuff was out there. Anyone know when this happened?
Clueless Sparky
LOL
I don't care what color, they have to look at it, but it is the only time I want to wash my hands - to device/plate out !

for Black, the regular stuff is shiny and looks to be mid-century style. in the designer stuff from lutron, the black is available with a matte finish and looks much more contemporary.
