I'm interesting in taking these exams....was wondering if I could sit for them without meeting licensing requirements?? I live in the NYC area.
My situation is that I'm an EE who would like to get into the very practical elements of design, but becoming an electrician at this point in time wouldn't be something I could afford to do (30 years old, starting from scratch).
I noticed I could take the IAEI residential/master inspector exam without being an inspector. I see it's strictly a code exam, and it appears to cover every chapter.
How would the electrician exam differ from the inspector exam?
I'm taking the Power PE exam in April, and once done with this would like to keep the ball rolling!
