Jet-line in conduit with conductors

After seeing conductors damaged by the use of a pull string to add additional conductors I would never even consider the use of a pull string to add conductors to a raceway. If there are any bends, and the run has much length, I don't think it would be possible to avoid damaging the conductors. This damage may not show up until much later if ever, but I would expect damage in most cases.
I now either use one of the existing conductors as a pull wire or pull all of the existing conductors out and re-pull them with the new ones.

We used the jet line that we added to pull in a non conductive fish tape (not pull wire with the jet line, that can be suicide) as mentioned previously by RJohnson (fiberglass) Never had a problem.

Is it permissible to pull a jet-line in a conduit with your conductors?

This is what I mean by jet-line.

I was thinking you ment like an F14 or something....!
No but seriously are you planning for future instalations? unheard of around these parts........LOL .....(see "What a Waste" thread.)

I don't see a problem pulling it in with the conductors.

I do see a problem years down the road when you actually go to use it to pull more wires in. All I can envision is the jetline sawing right through the insulation of the existing wires.

Unless it's a short, straight run, I'd either pull all new wires or use one of the existing wires as a pull string instead.

The nylon "jet line" really cuts into PVC conduit badly, especially if there's a long run involved.

I've found that the best spare to use as a pull wire is #16 stranded TFFN aka control wire.

Red polyline

Red polyline

Well if and when we install polyline . Yes its a short run and mostly a conduit full of stranded wire control stuff or cables in tray we use a different type then shown in that picture its heavy duty poly line red in color and does not break or cut into wires its flat put soap on and pull works fine . when you pull it into a raceway you must keep it out of the bundle to one side if it twist into a bundle its harder to pull thur . funny thing is the electrical engineer asked us to install these its in our specs and we follow as directed guess this week ill ask about the polyline and get back with you guys .Best to yas
