Heres a small job I did, owner didn't ask for a price, just needed it done. It was not a hot rush job, just regular working hrs. Run 55' of 3/4 emt (3-90's) , 10' ceiling (drywall), from a flush mount QO panel. Pull 3 #6thhn and 1 #10thhn to a disconnect mounted on a block wall,wire a free standing commercial oven into the switch(oven came with a 4' whip). Terminate at panel with 2 pole QO260. Could you's give me a price for M+L, job was 30 minutes one way from shop.Am trying to check my prices, seem to be losing alot of small bid jobs, just wondering if I'm out of line. Thanks.

That almost always spells trouble when it comes time to give them the bill
Not really. Lots of people get work done that way. It might not be how you're used to doing work, but small work is often done like this. As long as they sign a work order, prices ahead of time or not, you're "legal".

Quick & loose from my head I'm coming up the same as Marc. Come to think of it, I'd be higher. The last spa I did just from the disconnect to the spa in IMC & 6 ga about 10' 3/4" & a couple bends with connections was around $500. I wasn't thinking 6 ga when I did it in my head.

Larry, in reply to your question I was at the jobsite 4 hrs, spent 1/2hr picking up material, and a total of 1 hr driving to and from.

Based on 6 manhours I would be around 1100.00
6 x 125.00 = 750.00
6 3/4emt x 10.00 = 60.00
couplings ,connectors ,straps @ = 25.00
#6 165ft @ 1.00ft = 165.00
QO260 = 30.00
#10 55ft @.50 = 27.50
disconnect = 40.00
total 1097.50

I know, I will be struck down for saying this....but with our local rates this job would have been around $750-800 my material and labor cost usualy run neck and neck......even the plumbers are only $70-75/hr

Ok, Im putting on my armored suit now...:)

Mule, where are you from? I was a bit surprised as well with the rates posted. I'm from the Mid Michigan area and it's even worse around here because we have so many small EC's in the immediate area and most all are working under the "I can do it cheaper than you" mentality.
