Job Trailer nightmare

protection, (schd 80 or rigid) for my cord??

protection, (schd 80 or rigid) for my cord??

why on earth would they require this for my job trailer, when every RV out there just has their cords laying around from the plug to the trailer?

also they want it in pipe suitable for service entrance, and this is a feeder, as they require me to run 4 wire to it, so why can't i use some other form of conduit? i don't get it. i see no difference at all btwn the two.

yeah, i guess. i'm putting the trailer about 8 feet from my building and will ask if i can run a piece of deep strut from the building to the mast, with my cord cable-tied to the top of it.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaall righty then!

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaall righty then!

okay so i ran 20' #4 triplex overhead to this pig after it was moved. ran a #2 THHN for a neutral, because that is the smallest size that is marked sunlight resistant, (not like it will EVER SEE SUNLIGHT with all that white tape wrapped around it!), and i STILL got nailed for using the bare messenger as a ground!!! so at least he let me get away with a d/c that isn't service rated. also let me size the wire according to the load instead of the panel in it's breaker size. still....two trip fees already. :ashamed:

i don't know how to explain this, seriously, i think the inspectors have been out there only two times that i remember, but i went to pay my above trip fee and they hit me with a THIRD ONE. at $45 per trip fee that is $140+/-. This state is so hungry for trip fees they come out AFTER you call in the a.m. and TELL them DONT come out till the afternoon, and show up in the Morning then hit you with, Well, i Didn't get the Message, so here's another trip fee for you. I hate them now.:rant::rant:

I usually try for getting things right the first time - then you don't have to deal with extra inspections, and additional fees.

You started this thing off the wrong way > "i guess there is no way this thing is ever going to pass code so i just want to make sure i don't kill anybody. i only pulled a permit for this remodel job, i did not know there was going to be a trailer there until just the other day, at a pre construction meeting when the Port guy asks me to hook up this trailer they got for the longshoremen to take breaks in while the old place is under construction."

A good inspector will not care about your additional comments. They will see the trailer and will be looking for code compliant install of what is there and will not care about any hardships or unforseen issues you may have encountered along the way.
