Junction box supported by luminaire.

I'm installing the recessed lights and I don't have the enough space to make a splice inside the housing, so I attaching the junction box to the fixture only with the chase nipple and locknut, so it's not secured to the structural member. I cannot find anything in regards to this installation. Is this application complying with NEC, yes or not, will someone provide me with reference please.

I don't think you will find anything in 314.23 that would permit that means of support for the box.
