Just a rant on quality of tools

To the comment earlier about everything being manufactured in Mexico now - as far as I know the German brands still make their tools in Germany. I have Metabo and Fein tools, purchased from a supplier not a big box, and they all indicate made in Germany. I haven't used Hilti or Festool but both have a good reputation. I have heard that some Hilti products sold at the big box stores are made in Mexico but Hilti bought through a supply house is made in Germany.

That used to be the case but now most manufacturers tell you to throw NiCads in the charger the moment you notice reduced output and they go on to say full discharging can harm them.

Me, I use 18 and 14 volt Dewalts. If I need 24, 36 etc I will pull out a corded tool.

Yea i feel the same way. 18v lightweight regular screw gun is perfect for my needs. I have no problem breakin out a lead cord for some hammerdrillin.
