You're not the only gadget lover, that's for sure. Most "normal" electricians (I use that term loosely ;) ) have a nice collection of stuff to help them with their particular specialty.

I have a 'pimped out' plastic cart, whats my specialty. :)

Good Morning Marc..We just like the fact that you already checked it out a year ago..You are like curious George when it comes to techno gadgets..I wonder if we can call you Marc gadget??..regardless we value your opinion..and many others opinions as well..

I have one of these and haven't seen the $$ come flying in the door. I rarely get someone to actually pay for a test, but when we encouter one of the "usual suspects" panels, if the H/O doesn't want to replace, I will test a couple of breakers at no charge. Apparently in this area, we must have gotten all of the good FPE breakers. I don't find as many problems as I expected. It does identify wiring problems that execeed the limits of a safe test, and aborts the test. No one has opted to repair those circuits yet!

It's a nice gaget, but not the money maker as advertised.

Pimped out Rubber-maid carts (or even a shopping cart) are "da 'bomb".

I've pimped out so many, I am the envy of guys on some jobsites...what with all the "side cars" (spackel buckets, little hand cleaner buckets, milk crates, etc)...notches and holes for cutting pipe, rod, kindorf, etc. ...let's npt forget areas for the radio and lunch box :)

Profitmaking instrument?! Ya betcha....for KO Instruments it is pure profit.

Seriously, it would be only worth it if you generate business going from door-to-door, or mass market mailing with some slick flyers to offer free home inspection of electrical systems and evaluating what the Owner may need to do to fix problems.

On the other hand this could be the start of a different kind of business and really helping the homeowner who is unaware of impending failure until it is too late.

Interesting gadget, even though this is meant to check 120 volt S/P breakers could you hook it up to a step down x-former to check 2/P or 3/P breakers as well? :-?
