let's say you carry $500 worth of devices on your truck...and you lose 10% to damage....

how much does it cost in time to individually place each device in a bag (forget the cost of the bags)?

probably more than $50

It's about the Anal Retentive Chef (cooking show) who starts to make a steak with perfectly cut pieces, but then finds pieces that aren't perfect, goes through a whole process to throw away the imperfect pieces with paper towel, aluminum foil, a paper bag & tape. Then the counter needs cleaning & the stove needs cleaning with some dis-assembly.

I think the point was the steak never gets cooked, just like SOMEBODY isn't getting any work done because he's playing around putting everything in plastic bags. Isn't that sweet?

The orange Gojo pumice hand soap that is quite useful for cleaning dirty conductors is also good for removing a myriad of other stains, such as the dirty devices mentioned in this thread.

Hand cleaner is not approved for electrical devices

We do have issues with devices getting black marks from each other when taken out of the box so we keep as many in the box as possible. Putting everything in bags would take up too much room for me.

i like the idea of keeping things in plastic bags. when i buy my van im going to probably do a similar thing to keep stuff organized and clean :)
just keep the stuff in the original boxes and save yourself the hassle, otherwise you will need seperate bags for each device or they will will get smudged.

The first Service Truck I had was decked out in Adapto mini bins. You could get a dozen different sizes.
Trouble is that thay were a heavy cardboard with what seemed like a wax coating. It would only take a week or so to to get that black greasy mess on the device faceplates. Some just couldnt be cleaned.

You obviously need bigger trucks that need to be better organized
