I am installing an electric kickspace heater in a kitchen. i am not sure if it needs to be gfi protected I can't locate it in the code book. I think it should be. I did put it on a gfi circuit but never found it in the code book

Why would it need to be GFCI protected?

(In other words it is not required to be GFCI protected by the NEC)

So do you think it was necessary or just wasting money

I am a big fan of GFCIs, I think they are great and should be used more often for receptacle outlets.

That said, hard wired equipment as long as it is properly grounded is very safe without a GFCI.
