but it looks like there are newer breakers coming faster and faster...
With the GFCI rules and the AFCI rules and the rues here in Britain for RCD and newer AFCI coming soon..plus surge protecters as well... I really would be happy if we could see a rule allowing the use of the breakers like we use in Britain in the USA rather than the panels currently used... well, it may be more asthetics on my part, but... I like some of the consumer units here in Europe... and how I can blend them easier into a room...
But, we just had code changes here requiring a change from the plastic cabinets to metal cabinets... not too sure yet of all the reasoning... yet it still in my own mind creates a problem for where my main job will be, which is in the Caribbean... in ten or less years...
So, I am constantly trying to learn everything I can about ways to mitigate water damage to panels... the normal panel install in Jamaica is to dig out the wall space for the panel, run the conduit into the panel, and put cement and mortar back around the panel, so when you have water migration through the cement, it affects the panel box... biggest headache I have had in Jamaica is rusted out panel boxes and rusted out metal switch boxes...
Which is why I constantly look at changes in the Plastic or pvc boxes and wish that we could somehow adapt the german boxes for use..but they use round boxes..lol...
The problems that one runs into in other countries...
