Kitchen sink requirements

What is the current requirement for placement of receptacles in terms of the proximty (minimum inches) to the rim of the sink?

I think it means the DIYer is "consulting" us on how he can wire his kitchen. :roll:

Thanks for the replies.

We had a City Inspector demanding 12" placement and my experience called for 24". I did not have my code book on site. Sorry to have offended anyone with such a naive question.

Issue resolved.

Under the NEC, there is no minimum distance, only a maximum distance of 24".
