Am trying to find out what connections are available that indicate whether the ATS is on Utility or on generator. The control card is RYC-20. Tried to contact Kohler tech service, but something is wrong with their phones. Googling the control card gets me nowhere. Maybe it's buried in some manual. I noticed that there are number of relay outputs, but no indication of what they indicate.

Can anyone help?

If this is the wiring diagram for the unit that you have, then they may just be external load control relays and not signaling relays (See: External Load Control Relays?). They also show auxiliary relays that are optional. One is a NC that is closed on Normal, and the other is a NO that closes on Emergency (See: Auxiliary Relays?). There's the other 4 "TS" relays but I am unsure if they are already being used for something else, or if they are just more auxiliary relays. They seem to share the same behavior as them (NC on stay closed on Normal, and NO close on Emergency).

This is all for the 300-400RTX models.

That diagram shows a status indicator panel as optional.
Starting at $33 from Kohler themselves (actual cost will vary depending on your local dealer apparently).

This one does NOT have the extra Load A-D & HVAC indicators or the Load Shed Test (Even though they show that version in the picture). The P/N on that page matches the model that just shows what the current source for the ATS is according to the attached spec sheet.

The control card is RYC-20.

I know Kohler and this number is not familiar at all.

Really need the model, spec, and/or serial number of the ATS in question. What type of front panel controls it has would be helpful too.

Most can easily do shaft contacts to annunciate position, but the controller itself can do more programmable things too, like annunciate it is about to transfer in advance, and many more things.

Thanks, All! Yes, Bill, the schematics you provided are for the card I am looking at and it helps a great deal. Yeah, it seems that we would need an aux contactor kit to get indication of the ATS position. This is a rear bare-bones installation - no control panel.

An additional item of concern is TB1. Have been told this is an output for the "CT" (although I see no "CT", only shunts). Am assuming TB1 is a 4-20 mA output, which we are wiring to a PLC. I guess I can find out when the genny is commissioned tomorrow, but am wondering what the scaling is and whether it is sourcing or sinking.
