WHAT IS THE FORMULA FOR KWH. WHAT WOULD THE KWH BE ON A 480v 3-phase 60 amp moter running for 4 HRS?

to find Kilowatts

to find Kilowatts

three-phase
Kilowatts = volts X amperes X power factor X 1.73 / 1000

example: a three-phase, 480V (AC) motor that draws 60A and has a power-factor rating of 80%. determines the kilowatts.
480 X 60 X .80 X 1.73 / 1000 = KW
39859.2/1000 = 39.859 = 40 KW

hope that helps

V x A x sqrt(3) x pf x hours / 1000 = KiloWattHours

You need to measure the power factor for the running motor.

If you don't need to be very accurate, assume pf = .85

480 x 60 x 1.732 x .85 x 4 / 1000 = KWH in 4 hours
