By that reasoning, the contactor is 8 straight lines and a circle.

I think that he understood the difference between power and control. He just did not understand the difference between a voltage transformer primary and a short circuit. They both look like solid lines....

Well something was misunderstood about it, and the primary is like a short circuit before the impedance develops.

So perhaps it's simply his misunderstanding of schematic diagram symbols?
