L14-30 Outlet In-Use Cover?

Does anybody make an in use cover for an L14-30 outlet?

Pointing downward seems like the best option instead of like a bubble cover for a 15 amp outlet.

I am finding lots of generator inlet stuff, but none for an outlet.

They have cutouts for TT30 and 14-50 but neither is similar size to an L14-30.

An L14-30 cord cap is not going to fit behind one of those small covers.

You might need to hack something together, eg. buy an inlet box and then replace the inlet with a flanged outlet.

Many times the inlet and outlet components have the same dimensions

Red Dot CKLSVU is 4-3/4 deep inside

edit: I don't think that will work though because the min bend radius on SOOW cord is 5x diameter which would be around 3in for 10/4, plus the 2.75" depth of the L14-30 plug. I think Winnie's solution is good.

Or instead of a locking plug could you use a 14-30R and right angle plug with a regular inuse cover?

Something like Winnie's solution is what I had in mind. I just thought it would be more readily available. I will call on Monday.

Tt30 is bigger than an l14-30. So as take a 4x4 blank, cut out an l14-30 size hole in it and screw it into place.

Most the 5-15 applications don't even allow cover to be closed with any sort of heavy duty plug and/or many heavier cords.

I understand the intent of the WPIU rule but practicality and intended use has never really existed with these.

You can usually just replace the inlet with an outlet

Or just go full watertight Hubbell or Woodhead, cord cap and outlet.

That wouldn't be an in-use cover

They are a completely watertight solution, better than a crappy plastic cover. Why wouldn't it qualify?

I didn't look closely at your link the 1st time. I thought it was just a flap cover and wouldn't protect while in use.
I see it requires a watertight locking plug.

So if you used both the receptacle and the plug in conjunction, it would be watertight.

This customer already has the plug supplied. I am going for the power inlet style if the customer approves.
