I have just seen LA type flex conduit. Is it to “replace” UA type? Is it usable in HAZLOC areas? Will UA go away?

Type LA does not "replace" Type UA but is recognized for use in some HAZLOC installations such as Class I, Division 2 with appropriately listed fittings. [See Section 501.10(B)(2)(2)] I will not list all conditions where Type LA is recognized; I will leave that as an exercise for the student. [See Section 348.12(4)]
