Most likely, but you have to look at each application on a case-by-case basis. If you are marking a piece of equipment in an oily machine shop, chances are that Magic Marker isn't going to hold up for long. Also, equipment installed outdoors in sunny climates tends to lose the marking after a short time. That's why so many specifying engineers and POCO's require engraved labels on equipment. Some POCO's won't even connect you until you have an engraved label attached with screws or rivets.
