Hi,
I've noticed some cases in unfinished basements where receptacles that are dedicated to "permanently" installed corded equipment - e.g., central vac, water softeners, etc... - are not GFCI protected. However, the other receptacles in the basements are GFCI protected.
I don't see an exception in 210.8(A) that would exempt such receptacles from GFCI protection. Could such receptacle/equipment combinations qualify as "motor loads" under 210.1? Article 430 seems to be devoid of any GFCI requirements. Or am I missing some else?
Thanks!
