Laundry Areas and the 2014

Not that hard pressed, I installed one a couple years ago in a custom.

Rumor has that the original requirement may been for ironing equipment.

We aren't under the 2014 yet, I'm working on something else.

The ROP led me to this question, as I believe the intent was to get the circuit to feed permanent laundry appliances only.

"...areas designated for the installation of laundry equipment" really looks like the outline of the washer, not the laundry room.

I know its a play on words but I do not see where the laundry appliances are permanent. They are cord and plug connected and can be moved with out disturbing the building envelope. Also by the way the ROP reads you only need to install one receptacle where the equipment is designed to be placed. Or you can have more than one as long, as before, you do not leave the laundry room and one is placed where the machine is going.
