LB under hot tub surround.

Need to pipe into an outside hot tub that is going to have a composite type decking material installed around the perimeter.

Can an LB fitting be placed under the decking?
It would be accessible by physically removing a couple of the “planks”.

The type of fitting that’s on the tub exterior and the interior make up of motor/ pump compartment doesn’t allow for a pull through of the wires without a LB.

Thanks

I would say no unless some kind of hatch is built into the decking.

Accessible (as applied to wiring methods). Capable of being
removed or exposed without damaging the building structure
or finish or not permanently closed in by the structure or finish
of the building.

Could you transition to flex in lieu of an LB?

Where the factory electrical fitting enters the tub it’s basically buried behind the pump /motor assembly and plumbing.

A one shot pull would be almost impossible with the obstructions.

As usual, poor design for the conduit entry.

Also 314.29 "Boxes, conduit bodies, and handhole enclosures shall be installed so that the wiring contained in them can be rendered accessible without removing any part of the building or structure . . ."

Not sure the skin panels of the hot tub count as part of "building or structure", for that code reference.

If the panel is removable via a screw or pop out fitting it is accessible. Really no different than an access panel on a wall and that is allowed.
