I put 4 led light trims in can lights. We have an led compatible dimmer(changed it to see if that was problem). 2 of the 4 of them are flashing like a disco. HO even changed the trims once. Any ideas for when I get to go back for the 2nd time.

Oh you got the disco version. You need to change the genre of the music.
:rotflmao:

Actually do they do this without a dimmer. If not change the dimmer type.

Not trying to insult your intelligence, but LED modules have to be rated for use with a dimmer... and you didn't state that the ones you installed are so rated.

"Compatible" is not as simple as it should be

Dimmer manufacturers have lists of specific lamps they've tested successfully, and lamp manufacturers have lists of dimmers known to work.

On top of that, the dimmer may have to be adjusted. Some have field-settable controls that have to be tweaked.

You sure you wired them correctly? I know for a fact that some fixtures have
two hot wires, one for constant hot and one for dimming.

Standard resi can housing. There are 4 lights on the switch leg. They all used to blink now it is just 2. I plan on taking a different brand trim and dimmer. When I was there before I changed the dimmer. It was fine for 20 minutes then started blinking again.

Cree has LED - "florescent style/type replacements" that have two hot wires.

Try reading here note the Calc's on page three. Not that this is by any means is
all inclusive and the complete answer to your situation.

What's the brand of dimmer. I know on Lutron there is a little lever on the bottom left side to help you get rid of the blinking.

I had this same thing happen when I put non dimmable LED red and green party lights in my coach lights for Christmas. They were controlled by a digital timer that I got at HD. No neutral connection on the timer. The Cree 60 watt equivalent soft white bulbs that were in there didn't do this.

I changed it to a standard switch for the time being.

Oh, the strange thing was they would flash like crazy when the switch was off. When it was on they were just fine.

Sounds like a problem in another thread of not to long ago. Wonder how they fixed that?

Lutron Maestro has an adjustment lever. You dim the lights, turn off the switch, turn on the switch and check for flashing, lather, rinse, repeat.

Isn't that also (mainly) for setting the low/high level when using the dimmer?
So if you don't want the lights to dim completely off you set a low point, same with high.
I've used the lever and that's what I did according to the instructions. I didn't know it would also stop flickering. Or if I did I forgot!:(

According to my memory of reading the instructions, it's used do what you say, but it is also to help with flickering too, also.

It reduces flickering at the low end of the dimmer range. Even when you dim and then turn off and back on at the dimmed setting.
It should not have any effect on LED operation at high or undimmed settings.
