Got this email today- looks pretty neat

Philips Lighting, parent company of Advance ballast, has recently introduced the
"Evo Kit". This is an LED retro fit kit for 2'x 2' and 2' x 4' florescent
fixtures. Attached is a specification sheet and below is a link to an
installation video. This can be a great profit generator for you! Small or
large jobs can benefit.

1) Approximately 50% energy reduction (compared with a T8 lamp)
2) Estimated life of 70,000 hours
3) 5 year warranty
4) Maintenance free
5) Utility rebates may be available, example $40 / fixture at Duke Energy
6) 5 - 10 minutes / fixture to install
7) Much improved light distribution, reduced "cave" (shadows) effects.
8) More modern appearance
9) Dimmable

Very impressive video.
The 50% improvement over T8 is hard for me to believe, but I will look at the specs to see how they justify it.
A large part of it may come from having all the light from the strip directed downward without relying on a white "reflector".

I was leery of the 50% also. T* are pretty efficient so to get 50% improvement is surprising. Not sure what these cost.
