I just installed a brand new LED dusk to dawn light. When i plugged in the photocell it turned on for about one minute then off. After about 5 minutes the light came back on and would not turn off. Also the top of the light got really hot. I checked the wiring and voltage and everything is good. I replaced the photocell and the same thing happened. Bad driver?

How many amps is it drawing? Over-amperage?

If the LED driver has a poor distortion power factor (high peak to average current ratio) it is possible that the high current peaks can burn out a semiconductor switch.
A relay-based photoswitch may overcome this problem.
