I have a situation that I would like to have a little help with.

I have 4 LED mini recess luminaires, 3w each. I have 2, two, drivers one with 3 terminals and 1 single. The drivers require Electronic Low Voltage dimmer.

The dimmer I need to use is a Leviton VIZIA+ VPE04-1L 400w The instruction call for a minimum of 40W.

I'm looking for a way to add the additional load to this setup.

I would greatly appreciate any input.

Can't use a smaller dimmer?

I looked that up and didn't see a minimum listed.
I usually use lutron devices and have never noticed a minimum on those either.

Can't use a smaller dimmer?

I'm going to call Leviton tomorrow to see if they have something smaller. My issue is that I have a total of eight dimmers in two boxes that I need to match.

Find Figure 2. This shows a neutral connection. I suspect that when wired this way with the neutral connection that there would be no minimum load requirement.

Operate one of these dimmers with no-load using the neutral connection and use a scope or voltmeter to observe operation.

Add a small load like 15,000 ohms at 1 W rating, and see if you get smooth control and that the voltage measured or waveform is about the same as with no load. Then try with a small incandescent load. If everything seems smooth, then try with your LED load.
