Hi all~

This is a two fold question.

First - has anyone installed or have any recommendation for LED outdoor lighiting? Specifically up/down lights, wall pack lights, bollards and can lights?

I have a project they want alternate lights listed, and I haven't gotten much information as of yet on it.

Second-
LED rope light. Is there a way to convert that from 120V down to 12V, without any sort of converter box?

Thanks for the help.

The rope lights come in 12volts, 24 volts and 120 volts. I don't believe you can convert a 120 sysyetm to a 12volt system

I think #2 is answered....

As for number one - I would suggest getting samples of lighting and beating the issues down with a big stick. IMO it seems that LED manufactures have not caught up with the Pro's of lighting, and still seem to be working out of the garage. And even the Pro's seem to have been lacking in ironing out simple factors that would be 'no-brainers' in the line or even low voltage fixture world. So I really think it is hit or miss on the availablity of good product at this point - as it seems that there are a number of ill-advised "designers" getting artistic with LEDs and calling them light fixtures. If you want to know how I REALLY feel - they suck! You're better off getting a real line or low voltage fixture and putting LED's in it yourself - because you'll only take half the short-cuts in doing so.

I have a lot to say about today's LED lighting, but don't have the time to write it down.

However, my opinion can be summed up by your observing all the LED traffic signals and just how MANY are failing!!!!

They ain't ready for prime time!!
