That often happens with the nonmetallic lampholders. I have no doubt that you understand what happens when you heat up urea.

For that very reason I avoid the non-metallic lampholders and use the trusty porcelain ones that have been made since the dawn of electricity.

porcelain is also non-metallic. You should clarify and say plastic instead of non-metallic as I have never seen a metallic keyless.

that's a decorative light fixture. Point is you were referring to plastic keyless as non-metallic in leiu of porcelain which is also non-metallic.

They aren't a violation. The code rule only prohibits the Edison base of the porcelain to be adapted to a receptacle.

This type of luminaire socket useally not a issue but a dangbat good gotcha is if you used where damp or wet location then you need a GFCI breaker or faceless GFCI to hande it.

I see what your saying, that entire unit is commonly called a lamp holder.
