My present employer wants to use plastic covered cable to disconnect overhead bus duct disconnect switchs instead of the insulated fiber pole. I refused to alter the safe way to disconnect the switchs and was told that the companys safety officer checked with OSHA and they allow this installation of cable for disconnect use. The company is located in Delaware ,can any one verify this change in safety and if not is there a code that I can inform them that this is illegal and unsafe. [*]

Re: legal use of plastic covered cable on bus duct disconnec

why would an insulated cable be less safe than a fiberglass pole?

why would it even need to be insulated?
