Oh right, next you'll tell us that you only wire hospitals or something like that. :D

Well, yeah but....;)

So do you use white receptacles, ivory or brown?
Most times they do spec gray (as ultramegabob mentions) or ivory but, I have an ongoing job at a university using brown and of course, EM devices are normally specked red.

My jobs only use Stainless Steel plates so I don't have this problem. :)
I've noticed that stainless duplex-receptacle and stainless dryer-receptacle plates don't even match.

White is also my color of choice, unless another color is desired. I have never been asked to use almond.

Hmmm, I've never had that problem either, but I must admit, we don't install many dryer receptacles either.

I just don't understand who would want almond, ivory, light almond or anything other than pure white. I've never had that problem as I've never trimmed out an entire house with anything other than pure white.

I don't understand who would only want white and not any other color that may actually match the wall or tile color.

I like the outlets to contrast with the color unless the walls are white then I still like white but actually I think I could live with gray but never ivory that's disgusting....and the wrinkled ivory wallplates that hold the dirt and grease from peoples hands and can't be wiped clean....sickening slovenly dispicably gross.

I usually let the customer decide but I do give them the options available.

I use P&S stuff. Never had a problem. The Lt Almond of Leviton is not the same as P&S. I use Lt Almond unless the customer asks for something else. It seems to go well with most decors.

Ick! I can't believe anyone would use almond or ivory "UNLESS" specified otherwise. That should be a crime.

Tract home builders.
I'm not a tract home builder and I think white should be the standard unless otherwise stated by the customer. For the record, I've never heard of a customer (mine or anyone else's) requesting almond or ivory. :)

If its not specified on the prints, I ask what the customer wants, if they dont know, I suggest that if they go with pure white walls or white trim, to use white devices, gray trim gray devices, and wood or any other off white color I usually suggest Light Almond. commercial kitchens usually get white devices with stainless coverplates on my jobs...
