I am looking for a product I have seen and used before, but I can't locate to purchase. It is for lifting a wire spool that is sitting in a "horizontal" position. (Meaning the wooden ends are sitting horizontal) It is a large toggle bolt that goes into the hole on top, and then has a hook or a clip for attachment. Can anyone point me to a website.

Thanks for the help.

Okay, here it is. www.tulsapower.com It's called the "Reel Thing"":

Holly cow! Never seen that before. What are the benifits as opposed to standard jack stands?

You can hang your expensive pulls from the crane or Petibone overnight so people don't steal them.

JJ you would not use that to feed cable from, the conductors would fall off the roll and make a mess, plus you would need 3 to 5 of them.

They are for moving heavy spools with a crane etc.

That would work unless the thief has a really good scope on his gun.

On some of the local bridge projects, the iron workers hang their welders from the cranes overnight. It's kind of amusing to drive by that.

All of the spools I've bought have a note on them saying not to store them on a flat side like that, they must be stored sitting up so they can roll. Is this not normal?

That is interesting, because when I get a truckload of wire shipped direct from the manufacture thay are always on their "side".

Thanks for the help Marc, that is exactly what I was looking for. I didn't have any luck trying to google it.
