Hello! I have a question about some wall paks i installed, fixtures were 277volts 250watts HPS I installed 100 watt HPS bulbsis that OK or will they burn out quickly because fixture is calling for 250watt bulb , I thought i would be ok as long as i stay 250 watts or under .thanks

You might start a fire. Check the manufacture's instructions and the label on the equipment.

HID ballasts are specific for the wattage lamp. Using a smaller or larger lamp could be dangerous as Charlie pointed out in addition to violation of the fixtures warranty and listing.
