Is there a distance requirement for a surface mount light fixture from a springler head and/or an air vent????
 
As 480sparky has pointed out, there is nothing in the NEC requiring a specific distance from a fire sprinkler head. This will more than likely be addressed in the fire sprinkler codes, such as NFPA 13. Check with your local fire marshall they should be able to help you with the answer.

If a lighting fixture or anything else is blocking the spray pattern of a sprinkler head ,it will not please the Fire Marshall.
