Light Fixtures

We got called to replace a few ceiling mounted light fixtures in an older home. The cables going to the lights were a mix of regular 14-2 romex and old cloth 14-2 Romex with a reduced #16 ground. We grounded the boxes and used greenies, but I think they were the 3M or something equivalent (Picture of the ones we use below). We put the grounds together, and ran a #14 to hit the ground bar, and light. I’m now realizing that the greenie was probably not rated for a #16. Any idea if #14 and #16 can be mixed with a greenie? I don’t know about you, but I don’t stop in the middle and look up ratings. The grounds were made up tight.

How irresponsible and dangerous of you- you should give up your license for that. It’s going to explode in a blaze of fire 🔥 and end the world

Why can’t things be more widely listed. Who has time to stop everything and check if this is listed, or is that listed. It gets really old sometimes

It’s a racket- pay someone to say it’s okay so you don’t get sued—- even if the items crap-

I really think they should ban all connectors and go back to solder

I have never in 25 years seen a bad solder connection- and NEC is suppose to be about safety—- ya right it’s about paying off the code panel—- its just small scale government corruption/lobbiest
